PRESIDENT IGOR DODON HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE INAUGURATION OF THE NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE DIAGNOSTIC CENTER IN CHISINAU
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, has participated in the inauguration of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Diagnostic Center within the Public Medical Sanitary Institution ”Diomid Gherman” Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Chisinau city. The event was also attended by Dereck J. Hogan, the US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center was created at the initiative and with the financial support of our compatriot living in the USA, the Chairman of the “MolDan Holding” Moldovan-American Civil Society, Vladimir Gherman, and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that allows for investigations of both structural changes – visualizing the brain structure and the full spectrum of pathological conditions, as well as functional changes – visualizing cerebral metabolic disorders and lesions at the cellular level. The amount of the investment made reaches over 1,500,000 US dollars.
Due to the absence of an ionizing radiation risk, the magnetic resonance investigation is harmless and can be performed repeatedly as many times as necessary, without danger to life and health, including that of children, pregnant women or those breastfeeding.
The head of state welcomed the opening of the Center, which is the first in the Republic of Moldova to have high-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging and will operate non-stop, offering patients unlimited access to high-quality investigations..
Igor Dodon encouraged our representatives from the diaspora to actively get involved in such activities, noting that the healthcare system is paramount for our country, and therefore, the presidential institution will provide the necessary support for the development of healthcare and the implementation of advanced diagnostic and treatment methods for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
